Festive Christmas garland for work

Festive Christmas garland for work

Just a simple tradition garland design to decorate the hallway right outside my office. This is a 12' pine garland base with a festive ribbon running thru the whole length of the design. Added things like green and red balls, reindeer, raffia, pinecones, bells and mini stockings for each of the office departments.  Each stocking held enough mini candy canes for each staff member in that department. Cute way to spread the jolly holiday cheer. I think i need a fireplace under the garland.  Maybe next year!!

Wooden Snowmen Yard Decoration -- two sides to this story!!

Wooden Snowmen Yard Decoration -- two sides to this story!!

These three snowmen are created on the backside of my four pumpkins yard decoration. I now have a two-sided two seasons decor.  These are made out of left over 2x8’s and 2x12’s lumber, which I created last year Oct2018. The heights of the snowmen vary from 2 feet up to 2 1/2 feet. I kept the original turquoise and white Krylon spray paint colors for the snowmen. I really like the turquoise color  for the one snowman.  The face & buttons detail is done using three different size round stencil sponges. For the nose, I drew then cut a triangle our of a piece...

"I Love You" in four languages

"I Love You" in four languages

This was a BIG CHALLENGE a customer requested of me. I took in a big breath and let out a slow sigh and said...ok.  It took me a couple weeks to complete this 22"x 36" painting.  It is made on refurbished heavy duty  pallet wood. It has lots of “nooks and crannies” in the wood and that gives this such a good texture and worn character appeal. I painted it with antique white chalk paint and added layers of words!! I love you is written in four languages.  I used graphite paper and a stylus to transfer my letters and...

The making of a Step Ladder --custom order

The making of a Step Ladder --custom order

Well ....this was probably the oddest customer order request I have had so far.  Not that I don't know what a ladder is....I just never thought I would make one!! My customer wanted a step ladder for her decorative use. And she wanted it old and rustic looking. Hey, I'm up for the challenge.  I mean I am quite familiar with wood, paint, stain, screws, ruler, saw and a drill ....oh and a little geometry!!  Which I never liked geometry class, but I really do like it in crafting.  This step ladder was made out of refurbished pallet wood and...

Fall Grapevine Garland

Fall Grapevine Garland

This is a 12' grapevine garland that I made to hang in the hallway just outside my office.  I shaped it with three central loops with the middle being the largest. I started off with a BIG bow made with three different ribbons.  This bow was made using the ProBow the Hand bow maker form. This garland has deco mesh curls, deco mesh ruffles, fall flowers, pumpkins, mini wooded pumpkin signs, berries and pine cones. I really like the natural color and texture on the grapevine so I elected to keep some of the vine showing throughout the design. This...
